  • 01

    Launceston Arrival

    DAY 1

Check in to Peppers Seaport — a stylish, ship-shaped hotel built on the site of Launceston's old dry dock, where the North and South Esk Rivers meet. Superb views out over the Tamar River towards Cataract Gorge and the city's best restaurants and cafes just a five-minute stroll away. The next few days are yours to explore Tasmania's second city at your own pace.
  • 02

    Launceston at Leisure

    DAY 2

A free day to discover Launceston — wander the Cataract Gorge Reserve, explore the Queen Victoria Museum, browse the weekend Harvest Market or simply settle into life at a pace Tasmania does better than almost anywhere.
  • 03

    Lunch Among the Vines

    DAY 3

Drive out to the beautiful grounds of Josef Chromy Wines, established in 1888, for a 2.5-hour long lunch experience. Begin with a tasting at the cellar door, then retire to the restaurant for a two-course menu of fine Tasmanian produce matched with wines. A stroll through the historic gardens rounds off a thoroughly unhurried afternoon.
  • 04

    Into the Wilderness

    DAY 4

Collect your hire car and head west into the heart of Tasmania's wilderness. Peppers Cradle Mountain Lodge sits at the entrance of the World Heritage Listed Cradle Mountain–Lake St Clair National Park, its private timber cabins tucked discreetly into the bush. Leave the phone signal and WiFi behind — this is two nights of pure wilderness immersion.
  • 05

    Wine, Wildlife & Dusk

    DAY 5

An afternoon at the renowned House of Arras at Pipers River that stretches well into the evening. Begin with a private 45-minute wine tasting at the cellar door, then head out into the vineyard — glass in hand — as your guide explains the art of vine training and Arras's remarkable sustainability story. As dusk falls, swap the wine glass for headlamps and binoculars: wedge-tailed eagles, platypus, scarlet robins and the occasional goat are all regular sightings on this atmospheric one-kilometre night walk.
  • 06

    Strahan & the West Coast

    DAY 6

Drive south and west through some of Tasmania's most dramatic scenery to the wild harbour town of Strahan. Your room at Strahan Village sits above Macquarie Harbour with magnificent water views — the perfect vantage point for two nights on Tasmania's remote and storied west coast.
  • 07

    The Gordon River

    DAY 7

Board your vessel at dawn for a 5.5-hour cruise into one of Australia's most ancient and untouched landscapes. Cross Macquarie Harbour and glide up the Gordon River past mirror-still reflections of Huon pines — some over 2,000 years old. Step ashore at Heritage Landing to walk in primeval rainforest, then cruise to the ruins of Sarah Island, where convict shipwrights once built extraordinary vessels from precious Huon pine. Lunch is served on the water.
  • 08

    Hobart

    DAY 8

Drive south through the wilderness to Hobart — Tasmania's compact, harbour-hugging capital. The Old Woolstore Apartment Hotel occupies a heritage-listed former warehouse one block from the waterfront, its original floors and fittings preserved throughout. Three nights here give you plenty of time to explore MONA, Salamanca Market and the vibrant waterfront precinct.
  • 09

    Wineglass Bay by Air

    DAY 9

A three-hour aerial adventure that delivers some of the most breathtaking scenery in the Southern Hemisphere. Fly low over Tasmania's dramatic east coast — pink granite mountains, secluded bays and powder-white beaches stretching below — before landing on Maria Island for a wildlife walk among wombats, kangaroos, Cape Barren geese and the endangered Tasmanian Devil and Swift Parrot. Lunch with wine is included before the return flight to Hobart.
  • 10

    Hobart at Leisure

    DAY 10

A final free day to make Hobart your own — whether that's a morning at the extraordinary MONA, a wander through the Salamanca Place galleries and markets, a harbour cruise, or a drive up to kunanyi/Mount Wellington for views across the city and the Derwent River.
