EU Entry/Exit System (EES)

From 12 October 2025, non-EU travellers including most British citizens entering the Schengen area will be required to register their biometric details, such as fingerprints and a photo, and could be asked questions about their visit to the EU on arrival, as well as a further biometric check on their departure. As EES is being implemented through a phased rollout, this experience may vary during the first six months. Travellers do not need to take any action prior to arriving at the border, and there is no cost for EES registration.

Passports and visas

For passports, different countries have different rules on how long passports must be valid for. Since the UK left the EU, clients travelling to Europe must have passports issued less than 10 years before the date they enter the destination country and valid for at least 3 months after the day they plan to leave. Health

When travelling abroad, certain health requirements may be compulsory for entry into your chosen destination, while others are recommended for your safety and comfort.

We strongly advise all clients to seek professional medical guidance well in advance of travel — ideally at least eight weeks before departure. This advice should be obtained from a qualified source such as your GP, practice nurse, pharmacist, or a travel health clinic, who can provide recommendations tailored to your personal circumstances, medical history, and itinerary.
