Rhythms of the South generally refers to various cultural and musical elements that are distinctive to the southern region of the United States. The region has been a cradle of diverse musical genres including Delta Blues, Jazz, Country, Gospel, R&B (Rhythm & Blues), Bluegrass and Southern Rock.
From New Orleans on the banks of the Mississippi River, the antebellum mansions of Natchez, music of both Memphis and Nashville to the history and Civil Rights Movement of Atlanta, it surprising how much of the southern states can be experienced in just eight days.

Natchez played a significant role in the antebellum South as a major centre of cotton production and trade and today, numerous antebellum mansion grand estates built by wealthy plantation owners, can be visited.
