Itinerary

  • 01

    Arrive Broome, Gibb River Road, Windjana Gorge, Tunnel Creek

    DAY 1

    Leave Broome for the Boab Prison Tree, then follow the Gibb River Road to Windjana Gorge to see fossils and freshwater crocodiles. Continue to Tunnel Creek, wading through its 750-meter cave with a torch before emerging into a tranquil oasis.

    Purnululu National Park

    DAY 2

    Travel to Halls Creek and continue to Purnululu National Park to stay two nights at APT’s luxury Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, offering access to the park’s iconic formations. Enjoy APT’s award-winning ecotourism and join a Traditional Owner for the Nyanyjili Footprint Tour to learn Bunuba stories, culture and history.

    Purnululu National Park, Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge

    DAY 3

    Explore Purnululu on walks through Piccaninny Creek and the echoing Cathedral Gorge as your guide reveals the Bungle Bungle Range’s natural history. Marvel at the beehive domes and opt for a scenic helicopter flight. Conclude the day with sunset drinks, watching the domes glow gold in the fading light.

    Echidna Chasm, Kununurra

    DAY 4

    Today, enjoy a hike through Echidna Chasm, where you’ll walk between towering gorge walls that reach up to 200 metres in height. Afterwards, continue your journey to Kununurra.

    Ord River, El Questro

    DAY 5

    Travel to Lake Argyle and join a wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From a modern shaded vessel, discover the area's ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations, before heading to El Questro Wilderness Park.

    El Questro

    DAY 6

    This morning, hike to Emma Gorge where you’ll be rewarded with a swim beneath a towering droplet waterfall. Enjoy lunch at El Questro Station, before relaxing at Zebedee Springs. Enjoy dinner this evening back at Emma Gorge Resort.

    Galvans Gorge, Gibb River Road

    DAY 7

    Head to Galvans Gorge, where a short walk leads to a picturesque waterhole, the ideal spot for a refreshing swim, before heading to APT's luxury Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge.

    Bell Gorge

    DAY 8

    Back on the Gibb River Road, travel to Bell Gorge, where spectacular cliffs surround a series of tiered waterholes. Should you be feeling particularly energetic, you may take the opportunity to hike to the lower pool of the gorge and enjoy a relaxing dip below the cascading waterfall.

    Derby, Depart Broome

    DAY 9

    Travel to Derby and visit a local art gallery displaying an array of local indigenous art. Later, return to Broome, where your journey comes to an end.
